Corpoideachas i nGaelcholáiste an Phiarsaigh

(Physical Education)

Déanann gach aon dalta sa scoil dhá thréimhse corpoideachais gach uile seachtain. Cabhraíonn an rang corpoideachas le haclaíocht agus folláine na scoláirí a fhorbairt, maraon le spiorad foirne, cumas ceannaireachta agus an t-iliomad scileanna eile. Sna ranganna faigheann daltaí an deis triail a bhaint as roinnt mhaith gníomhaíochtaí laistigh de thalamh na scoile agus lasmuigh de thalamh na scoile. Sampla de na gníomhaíochtaí sin ná:

All students undertake two PE periods every week. PE classes aid our students in developing their fitness and wellbeing, along with team spirit, leadership qualities and a wide variety of other skills. In these classes students have the opportunity to attempt and explore a variety of sports and activities both on and off school grounds. Examples of some of these activities include:

• Friosbaí (Frisbee)
• Cluiche Corr (Rounders)
• Leadóg (Tennis)

• Gleacaíocht (Gymnastics)
• Lúthchleasaíocht (Athletics)

Sa scoil faigheann na daltaí deis a thriail as réimse leathan de ghníomhaíochtaí leis an aidhm go mbeidh an suim acu an spórt/gníomh sin a dhéanamh lasmuigh den scoil.

Leis sin tá Corpoideachas mar rogha anois don ardteist sa scoil agus beidh an chéad rang ardteistiméireachta againn ag déanamh corpoideachas i 2023.

Students have the opportunity to try a wide range of sports inside and outside of class and we aim to encourage them to take up sport outside of school.

Physical education is now offered as a Leaving Certificate subject within the school, with our 2023 student cohort undertaking the PE examination for the first time.
